Quarantine at Roorkee in 1872

Dear Sir,?With reference to the leading article in the Indian Medical Gazette of 1st September 1876, as I am specially mentioned, some explanation of facts may be useful. In the first instance, it appears that either Dr. Cuningham never saw my report at all, or ignored it, and which would have given a somewhat different view of the circumstances attending the lloorkee Cholera visitation of 1872 ; but as his report started with a distinct theory, everything was therefore made to support that theory, and "where the facts did not agree, as the Frenchman said, " so much the worse for the facts." Now, Dr. Dickson was a stranger in the place, having been sent to temporarily relieve Dr. Eteson, whom I had to send to the Hills in a very bad state of health.
